Pamela Shaw

Pamela Shaw is Senior Investigator at the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute. She completed a BA in Mathematics and French at Grinnell College, and an MS in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the University of Washington. Dr. Shaw’s statistical research interests include methodology to address covariate and outcome measurement error, survival analysis, and clinical trial design. She has a particular interest in the epidemiology of chronic and infectious diseases, cancer, and behavioral intervention studies. Her methodological interests also include a focus on how to improve statistical inference and how to better tailor the statistical test to the scientific question of interest. She recently co-authored the textbook Essentials of Probability Theory for Statisticians (CRC Press 2016).
